Pre-Op Instructions
Preparing for Ear, Nose or Throat Surgery
Located in Raleigh, ENT & Audiology associates takes pride in providing the best ear, nose, throat and audiology services in the Triangle. In order for your procedure to go as smoothly as possible, please review the following instructions.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before surgery.
- Consume a light meal the night before your surgery. Try to avoid spicy or greasy foods.
- If you develop any symptoms of a cold, fever, cold, sore throat prior to your surgery, please notify ENT & Audiology Associates immediately.
- Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the evening before your procedure (not even water, candy, chewing gun, coffee, or tea). We may have to cancel your surgery if you do so.
- Do not take any medication unless instructed to do so by a professional at ENT & Audiology Associates. Don’t take aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatories for 10-14 days before your surgery.
- Following your surgery, you will be required to stay in the recovery room a minimum of four hours.
